The stars of this production will be Lorena Feijoo, previously of the San Francisco Ballet Company, and Lorna Feijoo, previously of the Boston Ballet Company. The sisters were originally trained in Cuba by Alicia Alonso, the artistic director of the National Ballet of Cuba, and have recently been reunited. This production will have a definite Latin flavor as well as a classical ballet theme allowing the both of the sisters to show their individual styles of dance. Lorena originally joined the National Ballet of Cuba in 1988. At age twenty she left Cuba and danced in Mexico and Belgium . She came to the United States in 1995 and danced with the Jeffrey Ballet in Chicago for six years before joining the San Francisco Ballet Company. Critics consider her to be the more dramatic and fiery dancer of the sisters. Lorna, who is four years younger, joined the National Ballet of Cuba at age eighteen. She came to the United States in 2002 and toured in Cinderella and Giselle prior to joining the Boston Ballet. Critics see her as a lyrical dainty compliment to her sister. The stage seems to be in their blood. Their mother, Lupe, was a ballerina in the National Ballet of Cuba. Their father, Jose, was an actor. The choreographer for this production will be Debra Brown, who previously choreographed Zumanity. Dominec Champagne is the creator/director of this production. He also directed Zumanity in collaboration with Rene Richard Cyr. Since its inception in 1984, Cirque du Sole has received over one hundred awards and distinctions. There are currently seven resident shows, six touring shows and one arena show. Many of us have seen one or more of the Cirque du Sole productions in other cities and have been transfixed by the costumes, choreography, and uniqueness of their productions. They continue to sell out. Don't miss the opportunity to see it this close to home. Cirque du Sole estimates ticket sales for their productions in 2007 will be approximately 8 million. Be sure you are one of those lucky people. Tickets are available at Ticketsmyway.com. Call early for best seats. We expect this to be an early sellout.
