People from all over the country are talking about Buddy's Birthday Bash. Here's what they are saying: "It's one of those nirvana experiences you get rarely in life. It's not just the great blues bands, it's the gathering. The streets were closed and we created a blues city, literally, with Legend's at its center. So many people, and no one's a stranger. Everyone's your brother or your sister at Buddy's Birthday Bash. If you've never gone, prepare to be knocked off your feet. The music is legendary. You must go, it's that simple." -- Charlie Sommers, San Francisco, CA, 2005 attendee
Buddy's Birthday Bash was started in 2002 by Buddy Guy, in honor of Muddy Waters. Shortly before his death in 1983, Waters directed Guy, "Don't let those goddam blues die on me." So Buddy Guy decided to keep the blues alive in a big way, and Buddy's Birthday Bash came into existence. It's not Buddy's Birthday, it's Muddy's, and Buddy won't let you forget it either. But at Buddy's Birthday Bash, in the heart of Chicago, IL, surrounded by the legendary blues artists of our time, it feels like it's everyone's birthday! Get your tickets today!
