The 14th Annual Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is scheduled for Sunday July 29th. Good seats are still available - starting for as little as 35.00.
An event not to be missed by NASCAR fans, all the top drivers will be there gunning around Indianapolis's historic 2.5 mile oval. The first race other then the world famous Indy 500 to be held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Brickyard 400 was renamed the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard in 2005 thanks to a multimillion-dollar sponsorship deal. The race has become one of NASCAR'S premier events and most coveted prizes in NEXTEL points competition. Since 1998 six times the winner of the Brickyard went on to become the NEXTEL Champion in the same year.
Inspired by his long time friend Payton Manning who lead the Colts to their Super Bowl win, Indiana's native son, Tony Stewart will be returning in the #20 Home Depot Car trying to repeat his 2005 victory, and keep the wining streak going for Indianapolis. He will be up against defending champion Jimmie Johnson and such all-stars as 4-time Brickyard 400 champion Jeff Gorden, and other previous winners, Dale Jarrett, Bobby Labonte and Kevin Harvick. Competition from Harvick will be especially tough as the 2007 Daytona winner tries to pull off a double, and grab two of NASCAR'S most coveted cups in one season. Its only been done twice before, in 1996 by Dale Jarrett, and defending Allstate 400 winner, Jimmy Johnson in 2006.
