The Auburn Men's Basketball team is led by Head Coach Jeff Lebo. They make their home at 10,500 person capacity Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. The school colors are burnt orange and navy blue. The school mascot and nickname is The Tigers.
The men?s team finished fifth in the Southeastern Conference West last season with a 7.9 conference record and 17.15 record overall. Even with the final standing, the season was not a total loss due to a win over rival school, University of Alabama.
The team was led in rebounds and points per game by sophomore forward Josh Dollard. He averaged 12.5 points per game and 7.0 rebounds per game. Other standouts include junior guard Frank Tolbert with 11.8 points per game and 4.8 rebounds per game as well as junior forward Quan Powell with 11.4 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Head Coach Jeff Lebo has an overall coaching record of 113 wins and 69 losses. Since joining Auburn as head coach he has posted a record of 43 wins and 48 losses.
Next year the team will be joined by high profile signing Boubacar Sylla of Paris, France. Sylla is a 7.1, 2.7.5 pound center who recently signed his letter of intent.
The Auburn Men?s Basketball program was started by Mike Donahue in the early twentieth century. The team joined the SEC as one of the thirteen founding members. They have won the conference tournament once and have won the regular season conference title twice.
The Auburn men's team has appeared in the NCAA basketball tournament a total of eight times with a record of 12.8 overall. They have also appeared in the National Invitation Tournament a total of five times with an overall record 2.5.
Auburn players that have gone on to star in the National Basketball Association include Charles Barkley, Chuck and Wesley Person, Moochie Norris and Chris Porter.
